Union Evangelical Church, United Church of Christ, was founded in 1874 by a group of people who sought to grow and live their Christian faith as a community of Christ followers in the midst of a world filled with questions and contradictions. They sought to be transformed by growing and living the love of God that we know through Jesus Christ. We still share their vision of building God’s beloved community where all are welcome and share in an ongoing journey of faith.
As a Protestant church in the free church tradition, we understand that church is both a noun–a people gathered together to live as Christ’s body and also a place where people gathered to worship, celebrate sacraments of communion and baptism–and a verb–a way of living for and with Christ in the world. We covenant together to seek to follow the way of Christ.
We celebrate that God is still speaking truth, love, grace, and justice through the living words of the Bible by the grace of God’s Spirit. No matter where you are on your faith journey, you are welcome here.
